Growing Medical Field Creates Demand for LVNs and RNs

Responsibilities of LVNs

The duties that a RN are allowed to perform vary from state to state (due to variances in state laws), but an RN can perform any duties that an LVN can perform. Additionally, RNs are often responsible for delegating duties among LVNs and nursing assistants.

Since RNs are responsible for a wider variety of patient care, as well as being responsible for the direction on LVNs and nursing assistants, the training necessary for becoming an RN is much more intensive. Additionally, once the training is completed, a test must be taken to certify someone as an RN. While there are more requirements to become an RN, there are compensating benefits. RNs are in high demand, and are offered excellent pay and benefits.
